The Cook position at HMSHost is a crucial role responsible for preparing cooked foods across various kitchen stations, including Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and egg cooking stations. This role demands versatility and a strong knowledge of different cooking methods to ensure the highest quality of food is delivered consistently. The Cook must follow recipes and product directions meticulously, handle ingredients safely in accordance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) standards, and maintain a clean and sanitary workstation. Communication is key in this role as the Cook coordinates ticket times, reports potential issues to the manager and servers, and supports smooth kitchen operations to meet customer expectations.

Job Requirements

  • food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
  • experience in high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
  • knowledge of soups, saute, broiler, fry, and pantry cooking
  • ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
  • ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • ability to bend, twist, and stand
  • willingness to work in hot environments
  • ability to work with sharp knives and hot plates

Job Qualifications

  • minimum of 1 year of related cooking experience
  • knowledge of HACCP food safety standards
  • experience in high volume or casual dining restaurant environments preferred
  • ability to read and comprehend instructions and policy documents

  • ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • physical ability to bend, twist, and stand

Job Duties
