Job Requirements

  • Scheduling flexibility is required

  • high school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Prepare menu items while exemplifying a positive demeanor
  • inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating ovens, broilers, grills and roasters
  • ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of stock and rotating inventory
  • start food items prepared ahead of time without over-preparing estimated needs
  • check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line setup, noting any shortages
  • prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards, production and portion standards
  • portion, arrange and garnish food, serving it to servers and/or bartenders
  • observe and test foods to determine if sufficiently cooked using tasting, smelling or piercing with utensils
  • return unused food items to designated storage, covering and dating perishables
  • operate, maintain and clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, pizza oven and flat top grill
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
