The role of Security Supervisor at Securitas is a critical leadership position focused on overseeing Security Officers, Lead Officers, and other personnel at client sites. The Security Supervisor ensures that all post orders and protocols are meticulously followed, regular rounds are conducted, and comprehensive reports are accurately filed. As the primary point of contact in emergency situations, the Security Supervisor acts promptly to notify authorities and clients to manage incidents effectively. The role also involves coaching, training, and disciplining security personnel, ensuring that all team members adhere to company policies and meet performance standards. With responsibilities that include staffing coordination, report preparation, and client liaison, the Security Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining high-quality security operations and customer service at all assigned posts.

Additionally, the Security Supervisor may perform some security officer duties and is expected to handle a variety of physical and mental demands, including managing pressure situations, multitasking efficiently, and adapting to changing environments or procedures. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 2 years of related experience
  • preferred minimum 2 years retail security experience
  • meet requirements for applicable state, county, and municipal security licenses
  • pass company standards for background and reference checks
  • pass controlled substance testing
  • pass behavioral selection survey
  • physical and mental capacity to perform essential functions
  • ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • ability to handle stressful situations
  • ability to direct and discipline staff positively
  • ability to work overtime as needed
  • ability to multitask
  • basic computer and keyboarding skills
  • clear communication skills for observing, reporting, and directing
  • frequent sitting, standing, walking including on uneven terrain

  • frequent lifting up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds
  • good vision and ability to adjust focus
  • regular use of vehicle for duties

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 2 years of related experience
  • minimum 2 years of retail experience preferred
  • knowledge of security operations, especially patrol, inspection, and response services
  • knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures

  • understanding of security and safety devices and controls

Job Duties

  • Functions as a supervisor of security officers, lead officers, and other company personnel assigned to client sites
  • ensures all post orders are followed and established rounds completed
  • files required reports
  • notifies proper authorities and client in emergencies
  • coaches and disciplines personnel as appropriate
  • meets with employees to document coaching and disciplinary actions
  • trains security officers and reviews post details with subordinates
  • assists in submission of payroll and personnel information
  • ensures adequate coverage of all posts and positions
  • prepares, files, and submits various reports
  • inspects posts and outlines tasks and responsibilities
  • meets with client representatives to assure security requirements are met and provides quality customer service
  • carries out supervisory duties including interviewing, orienting, training, planning, assigning, directing work
  • coaches and appraises performance
  • rewards and disciplines employees
  • addresses complaints and resolves problems
  • makes hiring and termination recommendations
  • may perform duties of a security officer in accordance with post orders and company policy
