Job Requirements
- BS degree, preferably in safety, industrial hygiene, or an environmental-related discipline
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Demonstrated computer literacy with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
- Superior problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize, organize and manage time effectively
- Ability to function under pressure and to prioritize numerous tasks with conflicting deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work non-traditional business hours as needed
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, climb and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with seasonal heat/cold and noise
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Job Duties
- Organize and direct the site’s Safety Committee, holding meetings to increase employee awareness
- Develop, facilitate and deliver safety training for employees based on facility needs and corporate requirements to ensure a safe and secure work environment
- Oversee the investigation of work-related illnesses and injuries, investigating all accidents and near misses, determining the root cause and ensuring that corrective actions are implemented
- Manage emergency response plans and coordinate drills
- Develop, evaluate and maintain effective health/safety policy and procedures to comply with corporate and regulatory requirements, including Safe Operating Procedures, Lockout/Tagout, Hearing Conservation and Powered Industrial Trucks
- Prepare OSHA and other governmental reports as required
- Prepare and distribute reports on safety metrics such as leading indicators and incident rates to stakeholders
- Conduct periodic plant audits, identifying hazards and working with plant management and maintenance teams to ensure timely resolution of identified opportunities for improvement
- Receive and compile plant SDS’s
- Other duties as assigned or as required
