Job Description

Suffolk is a prominent national enterprise that excels in building, innovating, and investing with a comprehensive approach to the construction lifecycle. As a leading construction management services company, Suffolk extends its reach through various complementary business lines, including real estate investment, design, self-perform construction, and innovative technology startup investment branded as Suffolk Technologies. Suffolk sets itself apart by integrating cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics through its proprietary Seamless Platform. This platform enables seamless connection among design, construction, and operations, offering smarter and more predictable project outcomes, thereby redefining how construction is executed across America.

Suffolk, often dubbed America’s Contractor, operates on a large scale with more than $9 billion in annual revenue, over 3,000 dedicated employees, and 17 offices nationwide including key markets such as Boston, New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and more. The company prides itself on managing some of the nation's most complex and transformative projects across various sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, education, gaming, aviation, transportation, government, mission-critical sites, and commercial developments. With a private ownership model led by founder, chairman, and CEO John Fish, Suffolk holds the #8 spot on Engineering News-Record’s list of Top Construction Management at Risk Contractors.

The role available at Suffolk focuses on advancing the company’s vision of transforming project management and operations using artificial intelligence. The successful candidate will become the on-site AI engineer, collaborating closely with project managers or superintendents (referred to as AI Champions). This position involves identifying workflow pain points, redesigning processes, and deploying tailored AI agents to enhance daily construction operations. Responsibilities include accelerating RFI (Request for Information) management, streamlining lookahead planning, facilitating progress reporting, and improving materials tracking.

Ideal candidates will function as a key AI technology integrator on construction sites, turning theoretical AI applications into tangible operational tools. They will work by developing user stories, coordinating with a centralized AI Studio, and deploying AI models in cloud environments like AWS Bedrock and ChatGPT Enterprise. The role demands hands-on engineering skills and a blend of process improvement expertise to ensure smooth AI adoption and measurable project improvements.

This position is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, and comes with a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees physically, emotionally, and financially. Suffolk’s total rewards program offers competitive salaries, auto allowances, market-leading medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, virtual care options, generous paid time off, a 401k plan with employer matching, life insurance, disability coverage, commuter benefits, backup daycare days, and more. Suffolk believes in fostering a supportive workplace environment and is committed to equal employment opportunities across all demographics.
