Job Description

Riggs Washington DC is a distinguished hotel situated at the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter's 9th and F Street, housed in a historic building that once served as Riggs National Bank. This unique establishment melds the charm of history with contemporary hospitality, featuring 181 guest rooms that cleverly pay homage to the building's rich heritage. As a vibrant and independent hotel, Riggs offers guests a refined experience through its all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant, Café Riggs, and the subterranean bar Silver Lyan, helmed by the internationally acclaimed mixologist Ryan Chetiyawardana, known professionally as Mr Lyan.

We are currently seeking experienced and passionate Bartenders to join our dynamic team at Riggs Washington DC. This brand-new independent hotel values luxury and independent hospitality experience, particularly within the Washington DC market, making it an exciting opportunity for professionals who thrive in a bustling, high-energy environment. Candidates who possess an open mind, a great sense of humor, and a proactive approach to creating positive guest experiences will find this role especially rewarding.

The Bartender position at Riggs involves engaging with guests in a warm and personable manner, preparing a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and offering tailored recommendations to enhance each guest's visit. This role demands adaptability, calmness under pressure, resourcefulness, and efficiency—qualities that are essential to maintaining the high standards of service that Riggs is known for. Successful candidates will work closely with multiple departments, ensuring seamless communication and a unified effort towards guest satisfaction.

At Riggs, the atmosphere is fast-paced and vibrant, perfect for bartenders who enjoy the challenge of a non-stop environment and have a passion for hospitality. The hotel fosters a positive, team-oriented culture where collaboration is key. Our bartenders are not only skilled in their craft but also bring a fun and welcoming personality that contributes to the hotel's warm and inviting ambiance. Joining Riggs means becoming part of a hospitality team that values growth, development, and delivering extraordinary experiences to every guest.

This role also offers a comprehensive benefits package aimed at supporting our employees' professional and personal wellbeing. Riggs Washington DC is committed to providing its team members with the tools, training, and opportunities necessary to advance their careers while working in one of the city’s most prestigious locations. This is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to be part of a pioneering hospitality endeavor at a respected landmark in Washington DC.
