Job Description
Deer Valley Resort is a premier mountain resort located in the scenic Wasatch Mountains of Utah, specifically in the charming historic mining town of Park City. The position of Cook II at Deer Valley Resort is a seasonal role aimed at supporting the resort’s culinary operations during peak periods from June 20, 2026, to September 20, 2026. Cook II plays a crucial assistant role to the sous chef and Cook III, focusing on the preparation and presentation of daily menu items, restocking, and managing food stations with high customer traffic. This role requires diligence in cooking dishes according to established recipes, assisting with the development of new food selections alongside the executive and sous chefs, maintaining cleanliness and organization of service lines, and ensuring the mise-en-place is well-stocked to meet the day’s requirements.
Cook II is also responsible for proper food storage and rotation to ensure freshness and minimize waste, completing daily inventory counts, assisting servers during busy hours, and performing other duties as assigned by management. Compensation for this position is competitive, with a pay rate of $22.50 per hour. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long periods and lift and carry weights between 25 to 50 pounds. Job Duties
- Cook dishes according to recipes and develop new food selections in conjunction with the sous chef and executive chef
- keep service lines clean, change pans as needed, and ensure food selections are well-stocked and appropriately garnished
- ensure mise-en-place is in sufficient quantities for the day’s requirements
- properly store and rotate food to ensure freshness and avoid waste
- complete daily inventories
- assist servers during busy times
- perform other duties as assigned
