This approach allows them to build direct, long-term, and collaborative relationships with coffee producers worldwide, ensuring the highest quality coffee and shared prosperity for all partners. Intelligentsia's commitment to excellence goes beyond just sourcing exceptional coffee; they are passionate about the craft, the culture, and the community that surrounds coffee. With locations in vibrant cities like Los Angeles, specifically their Silver Lake Coffeebar at 3922 West Sunset Blvd, they offer an immersive coffee experience that balances quality, hospitality, and community engagement.
The role of Coffeebar Manager at Intelligentsia is a pivotal position that blends operational management with a deep appreciation for specialty coffee culture. The Coffeebar Manager is entrusted with maintaining the high standards that Intelligentsia is known for, from the quality of coffee and tea beverages to the overall customer experience and financial performance of the location. This leadership role involves overseeing all aspects of the coffeebar's operations including budgeting, staffing, training, and vendor relations. The manager must lead by example, building and nurturing a team that is skilled, hospitable, and passionate about delivering excellent service.
This position requires a hands-on approach to managing both the front of house and behind-the-scenes activities, emphasizing efficiency without compromising quality or customer satisfaction. The Coffeebar Manager is responsible for financial oversight including monitoring sales results, managing inventory, payroll, and labor costs, and playing a key role in setting and achieving annual and quarterly business goals. Additionally, the role demands a strategic thinker who can identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, whether through implementing new operational initiatives or enhancing team morale.
Effective communication and team development are central to success in this role. The Coffeebar Manager will work closely with the Area Manager to provide ongoing training and development opportunities, ensuring that the team is confident in their skills and prepared to meet the high standards of Intelligentsia. They will also be instrumental in identifying and supporting future leaders within the coffeebar, fostering a culture of growth and inclusion. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $33.80, along with eligibility for quarterly bonuses based on performance metrics, reflecting the company’s recognition of the importance of leadership in driving success.
