The Bakery Host role at Magnolia is pivotal in upholding the company’s commitment to exceptional food service and guest satisfaction. Based at Silos Baking Co., the Bakery Host is responsible for connecting authentically with guests, ensuring bakery items are prepared, decorated, and distributed to the highest standards, and assisting in other Magnolia Foods business entities as required. Reporting directly to the Assistant Store Manager, this position is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced food service environments and possess a strong customer service orientation. The Bakery Host performs crucial duties such as managing cash wrap and point-of-sale operations efficiently, educating guests about menu items, preparing ingredients and baked goods with precision, and adhering to food safety standards to prevent foodborne illnesses. This role requires maintaining composure and a friendly demeanor during busy periods, actively contributing to a team environment, and continuously seeking opportunities to improve service quality and operational efficiency. Moreover, the Bakery Host must communicate effectively with management regarding product status, quality control, and any operational issues, ensuring smooth bakery operations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • 0-1 years of related work experience preferred
  • prior food service or hospitality experience preferred
  • food handler's license required upon hire
  • availability to work weekends, evenings, special events, and holidays as business needs require

Job Duties

  • Maintain a calm and friendly demeanor during periods of high volume
  • anticipate guest needs and provide exceptional guest service
  • perform cash wrap and point of sale duties in an efficient and timely manner
  • educate guests by presenting and explaining the menu and answering questions
  • prepare and sell food and drink products by following approved recipes, preparation, and cooking or baking techniques
  • prepare ingredients for each recipe by chopping, dicing, slicing, washing, and using additional techniques as needed
  • handle, prepare, and store food in ways that prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure compliance with all food safety standards
  • finish all product to specific visual requirements in accordance with Magnolia standards
  • communicate with management regarding status of products, quality control issues, problems with equipment, or unusual conditions
  • maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • evaluate and modify processes in order to improve efficiency and quality of service
  • contribute to a positive team environment, including giving and receiving feedback and assisting in other Silos Foods entities as needed
  • perform other duties as assigned
