Job Description
Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is a renowned state-supported educational institution committed to delivering high-quality technical education and workforce training across Texas. With multiple campuses and a strong focus on career readiness, TSTC emphasizes excellence, integrity, service, and accountability as core values that guide its operations and community engagements. The College partners with industry leaders, community organizations, and government officials to provide students with practical learning experiences while fostering strong regional ties that support economic development and workforce growth.
TSTC is currently seeking a Signature Events Lead to join its dynamic team. This role is pivotal in orchestrating high-profile events across Williamson County, Austin, New Braunfels, Central Texas, and various offsite statewide locations. The Signature Events Lead will execute the planning, coordination, and management of key institutional events such as ceremonies, ribbon cuttings, grand openings, board meetings, job fairs, and more, playing a vital role in elevating TSTC's brand visibility and community presence. This position is designed for individuals who are organized, effective communicators, and skilled at handling multifaceted projects that require collaboration across departments.
The Signature Events Lead will oversee regional budgets specifically allocated for Signature Events and develop strategies to maximize the use of available event spaces by implementing a comprehensive rental strategy aimed at generating revenue. The role requires identifying sponsorship opportunities through collaboration with Industry Relations and the TSTC Foundation, which reinforces the College’s commitment to fostering community partnerships and enhancing institutional priorities through strategic event planning.
An essential aspect of this position involves serving as a regional brand ambassador, ensuring all events are executed consistently with TSTC's brand standards and deliver memorable, mission-driven experiences. The incumbent will manage complex logistics involving audiovisual, catering, transportation, vendor coordination, and on-site event support by working closely with various internal departments such as Facilities, Police, and Campus Services.
This role demands extensive travel throughout the assigned region, estimated at 50 to 75 percent off-site from the home campus, to support the distributed nature of events. The Signature Events Lead must be highly adaptable and proactive, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. The role offers a competitive mid-point salary range of $53,000 to $54,000 annually for candidates who meet all requirements.
Candidates should possess strong customer service skills, project management experience, and the ability to build productive relationships with diverse stakeholders including students, staff, community members, and elected officials. The ideal professional will demonstrate strategic thinking, ethical conduct, and innovative problem-solving to continuously improve events and contribute positively to the institutional culture.
This employment opportunity at TSTC includes reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities and fosters an inclusive environment that prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, gender, age, disability, religion, veteran status, and other protected categories. TSTC is committed to equal opportunity employment and compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
Candidates interested in building a career centered around event management, community engagement, and institutional advancement will find the Signature Events Lead position a rewarding role with ample professional growth potential and the chance to make a meaningful impact across multiple communities statewide.
