The responsibilities of the Side Cook include preparing a diverse range of dishes by following standardized recipes and production guidelines. You will be responsible for organizing your workstation, preparing ingredients through cutting, trimming, measuring, and blending, and safely using kitchen tools and equipment such as knives, ovens, stovetops, and mixers. Your role will also involve cooking using various methods like baking, broiling, roasting, and steaming, as well as arranging and garnishing dishes to meet visual presentation standards. Compliance with food safety regulations and proper storage of ingredients are crucial components of this position. Maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen environment by disinfecting areas, utensils, and gear is essential to foster a safe food preparation space. Beyond technical skills, the role requires excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and adherence to all safety and sanitation rules. Job Requirements

  • Previous culinary or kitchen experience
  • knowledge of cooking methods and food preparation principles
  • understanding of food safety standards and hygiene protocols
  • food safety certification preferred
  • basic math and measurement skills
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work well in a team
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Previous history in the kitchen or a relevant culinary setting
  • thorough knowledge of cooking methods and principles governing food preparation
  • having a grasp of food safety standards and hygiene protocols is essential
  • achieve certification in food safety, if it has not been procured beforehand
  • foundational skills in mathematics and counting
  • skillful in both communication and teamwork capacities
  • having a high school diploma or its equivalent is preferable, although it is not mandatory

Job Duties

  • Create a diverse selection of dishes using standardized recipes and production guidelines
  • prepare workstations by organizing required ingredients and utensils
  • prepare ingredients by cutting, trimming, quantifying, blending, and so on
  • utilize different kitchen utensils and equipment like knives, ovens, stovetops, and mixers safely by following recommended guidelines
  • prepare and cook dishes through baking, broiling, roasting, steaming, and other culinary processes
  • arrange, adorn, and serve food in a manner that meets prescribed criteria for its visual display
  • conform to all food safety regulations and store food in the recommended manner
  • sanitize and disinfect kitchen areas, gear, and utensils to ensure a safe food preparation environment
  • offer outstanding customer care and exude a positive outlook
  • adhere strictly to all safety and sanitation rules prescribed by Aramark
  • ensure the safety of corporate valuables
