This role is full-time and based in Rochester, Minnesota, with a work schedule on Shift 4 from Friday to Sunday, 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
The role involves preparing products for systems-level assembly by handling tasks such as unpacking, set-up assembly, final packaging, and repair as needed. The individual will follow detailed manufacturing instructions and process routings to ensure each product meets high-quality standards. Responsibilities include verifying kits, entering batch lot information, packaging and labeling according to documented guidance, utilizing appropriate tools and materials, performing soldering and inspection operations, and conducting final inspections to ensure no defects or fingerprints remain on the products. Operators in this role are also expected to mentor less experienced colleagues, assist manufacturing engineering with prototype and pre-production builds, and support data entry into process feedback systems and operations tracking. Attention to detail, understanding of basic computer skills, component recognition, confidentiality, and professionalism are key to success in this position. Job Duties
- Accesses the appropriate paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment
- verifies kits, enters batch lot information, package and label accessory items according to documented instructions
- uses appropriate mats and all required tooling
- checks equipment to ensure proper performance
- uses manufacturing routings and process instructions under close supervision
- may assemble a variety of systems integration subassemblies
- notifies leadership of any shut down situations
- enters data into process feedback system and links subassemblies to final unit
- enters quantities into operations complete when required
- ensures quality of work to meet or exceed customer satisfaction
- mentors and assists lesser qualified operators
- builds subassemblies and adds labels per manufacturing instructions and schematic drawings
- performs hand solder and inspection operations per documented instructions
- performs f-cert function to ensure final units have passed all necessary operations
- performs final inspection of units to ensure no visible defects or fingerprints and wipes down units as needed
- adds user manuals, accessory packs, cables, labels per documented instructions
- may assist manufacturing engineering in basic prototype and pre-production builds
- uses manufacturing routings and process instructions under moderate supervision
- mentors other co-workers in assembly activities
