This position is responsible for operating the Nugget Casino's shuttle service, which plays a vital role in ensuring guests and staff are transported safely and efficiently between the casino, the airport, and other destinations. As a shuttle driver, the individual is entrusted with the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of every passenger, providing a welcoming and professional environment throughout the journey. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, a strong commitment to customer service, and a thorough understanding of vehicle safety and maintenance standards, particularly those set forth by the Department of Transportation (DOT). The shuttle driver will also be expected to conduct vehicle inspections, manage luggage handling, and maintain constant communication with casino team members via radio.
The ideal candidate will have prior transportation experience, a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), and the ability to work well within a diverse team and with guests of various backgrounds. The role requires adherence to company policies and safety regulations, along with a proactive approach to identifying and reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents. Additionally, this position requires the employee to maintain a clean and professional image representative of the Nugget Casino brand at all times. Regular and predictable attendance is a must, as well as a willingness to perform other related duties as assigned to support day-to-day operations and contribute to a positive guest experience. Job Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- CDL license required
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language
- Minimum 1-year previous transportation experience
- Alcohol Awareness Certification within the first 30 days required
- Valid Nevada CDL driver’s license preferred
- Clean 3-year DMV record
- Ability to walk stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move product up to 50 lbs
- Fine finger manipulation
- Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature lighting and noise levels
- Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-year previous transportation experience
- Valid CDL driver’s license
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in written form
- Alcohol awareness certification required within the first 30 days
- Clean 3-year DMV driving record preferred
- Valid Nevada CDL driver’s license preferred
Job Duties
- Provide exceptional guest service to guests while they are in your care ensuring safety and comfort
- Load and unload guest luggage
- Closely follow prescribed shuttle schedules
- Perform proper pre and post trip vehicle inspections in accordance with Department of Transportation standards and all applicable inspection reports
- Turn in all inspection reports and passenger count logs to the valet office at the end of shift
- Ability to hear and respond by radio to the Bell desk maintaining communication
- Pull luggage from the luggage room for guests when bellmen are not available
- Ability to interact with guests from all walks of life with ease and diplomacy
- Sit for extended periods of time while waiting for or transporting guests
- Report all accidents or tickets immediately to the Guest Services Manager
- Keep assigned vehicle fresh and clean at all times
- Load and unload luggage from shuttle bus as necessary
- Observe and obey all applicable DOT regulations and laws
- Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests
- Using the Nugget’s system of recognition recognize team members who are going above and beyond as appropriate
- Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local state and federal regulations
- Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike
- Immediately report unsafe conditions team member or guest incidents to Security Management and the Safety Manager
- Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourage others to do the same
- Regular predictable attendance is required
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
