With over 100 dealerships nationwide, Sonic Automotive is not just about moving inventory; they are deeply committed to fostering professional growth and success for their employees. As a company, they prioritize a supportive work environment that encourages development, teamwork, and career advancement. Known for their team-based approach and over 1,000 internal advancements annually, Sonic Automotive provides a collaborative and dynamic environment where employees can thrive.

By joining Sonic Automotive, employees gain access to comprehensive training programs designed to hone their skills and prepare them for a successful career in the automotive industry. Beyond training, the company offers competitive compensation, including a pay rate of $20 per hour for this role, and a robust benefits package that ensures employees feel valued and supported. The dealership's culture emphasizes safety, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

The role in question focuses on enhancing the customer experience in the service department by providing safe, reliable shuttle and valet services. As a Shuttle and Valet Driver at Sonic Automotive, the primary responsibility is to drive customers to and from their homes or places of business while their vehicles undergo service. This role is crucial in maintaining a positive customer service experience, as it provides convenience and comfort to customers during what could otherwise be an inconvenient wait time.

In addition to shuttle duties, the position involves several maintenance and cleanliness tasks within the service area. Responsibilities include valeting vehicles within the dealership’s service lanes and parking lots, cleaning service areas using various equipment such as floor machines, and maintaining restrooms and other common areas. The job also requires assisting technicians with spill cleanup, managing disposal of scrap parts and oil filters, and ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA Right-to-Know regulations.

Safety is a paramount concern in this role, with the expectation that all duties will be performed using proper protective gear and in line with company safety policies. Employees in this position must demonstrate good judgment and safe driving skills, maintain timely shuttle routes, and operate communication devices effectively to ensure smooth operations. Maintaining a professional appearance and reporting any incidents promptly are also key to fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.

Overall, the role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and want to build a career in the automotive services industry. The combination of customer interaction, hands-on maintenance duties, and the supportive culture makes this an attractive job for those seeking long-term growth and job satisfaction with Sonic Automotive.
