Job Description
SP Plus, a Metropolis company, is a pioneering artificial intelligence enterprise specializing in real-world applications. Focused on leveraging advanced computer vision technology, SP Plus has revolutionized the parking industry by enabling checkout-free parking experiences. This innovation eliminates the traditional hassles of parking—no need for tickets, machines, applications, or credit cards—allowing customers simply to "drive in and drive out." As the largest parking network in America, SP Plus boasts a workforce of over 23,000 employees and operates at more than 4,000 locations across North America and Europe. This extensive network underscores the company's strong market presence and commitment to improving mobility and convenience for its customers. The company is driven by a mission to reinvent parking, recognizing its universal importance and pervasive impact on daily life. SP Plus envisions a future where checkout-free experiences extend beyond parking, transforming everyday activities of living, working, and playing into remarkable experiences that save valuable time for everyone.
This role is based in El Paso, Texas, offering a competitive wage of $13.00 per hour. It is a critical position centered on ensuring smooth and efficient transit services to clients through the maintenance, management, and operation of shuttle and bus services. The position entails performing vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards, fueling and cleaning buses, logging trip counts, and assisting disabled passengers. Reliability and punctuality are paramount, as employees are expected to be present at every scheduled shift, fully in uniform, and ready to provide excellent customer service. The candidate must carry a valid state-issued driver's license during duty hours and maintain a satisfactory driving record. Critical to the role is not only technical skill but also customer interaction, requiring personnel to courteously assist passengers, respond to inquiries, and refer complex issues to the Facility Manager.
The position also includes auxiliary responsibilities such as reporting safety hazards, accidents, and violations, facilitating communication regarding garage conditions like debris or spills, and substituting for cashiers or valets when authorized. A thorough knowledge of the facility layout as well as local major streets, landmarks, and freeways is essential for navigating effectively. This position could also involve assisting customers with luggage and other travel-related items, especially in airport settings. Employees will collaborate closely with Facility Managers and may undertake other duties as necessary to support daily operations. SP Plus values its workforce by providing extensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, disability coverage, life insurance, accident insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. Moreover, as an equal opportunity employer, SP Plus is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that respects and promotes diversity irrespective of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, and other protected statuses. The company also uses automated employment decision tools to fairly assess candidates against job criteria, maintaining transparency and compliance with regulatory standards.
