Job Description

Valley Passenger Associates (VPA) is a reputable transportation company operating in the Worcester area, specializing in providing safe and reliable shuttle services. The company is known for operating walk-on 14-passenger vehicles that do not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), making it accessible to a broad range of drivers. VPA emphasizes steady local routes and values safety, professionalism, and customer service. They offer flexible employment options including full-time and part-time positions, with shifts primarily available from 6am-9am and/or 2pm-6pm Monday through Friday, but with some flexibility required. The role is ideal for individuals seeking year-round employment with opportunities to work two, three, or five shifts per week and even additional hours as available.

The shuttle driver positions at VPA come with competitive pay rates, where non-CDL drivers start at $19 per hour and drivers who possess a CDL with a passenger endorsement start at $21 per hour. One of the significant benefits is VPA’s weekly payroll system, allowing employees to receive their paychecks via check, direct deposit, or pay card on a weekly basis, which adds convenience and reliability for its staff.

The shuttle driver role involves responsibilities that focus heavily on safety, customer service, and daily operational duties. Drivers are expected to greet patrons courteously, assist customers as needed, and ensure their safe transportation to various destinations. Additional duties include opening and closing shuttle doors, complying strictly with traffic laws and company procedures, and maintaining effective communications with management and co-workers through radios. Drivers are also required to conduct pre-trip inspections to comply with federal and company safety regulations, record passenger counts and trip times, complete necessary paperwork, and assist with equipment setup when needed.

This role is essential in upholding VPA’s commitment to quality and safety. Maintaining shuttle cleanliness, reporting any mechanical issues promptly, and adhering to company protocols is a daily part of the job. The company requires shuttle drivers to hold a valid class D (non-CDL) license, be at least 20 years old to meet insurance regulations, and maintain a valid DOT Medical card. VPA supports its employees by offering to cover the cost of obtaining the DOT medical card for qualified candidates. Professional driving experience is valued and background checks as well as driving tests are mandatory requirements.

Valley Passenger Associates is an Equal Opportunity Employer, fostering a workplace where diversity and inclusivity are prioritized. This opportunity is ideal for reliable, courteous individuals who enjoy working in a team-oriented environment and are committed to providing excellent transportation services. Joining VPA means becoming part of a dedicated team focused on customer satisfaction and safe transit solutions in the Worcester community. The company's dedication to steady employment and competitive wages makes it a sought-after employer for shuttle drivers in the region.
