Known for its customized attention and centralized contact for various product lines, menu changes, and account coordination, PFG Customized serves customers across the United States and in more than 40 countries worldwide. The company prides itself on delivering high-quality service, reliability, and innovation to support the complex needs of its diverse client base. With a strong commitment to safety, inclusivity, and growth, Performance Food Group provides a dynamic and supportive work environment for its employees.
The Driver, Dedicated Backhaul position is a pivotal role within the company's logistics and supply chain operations. This position offers an annual salary of $59,000, with a schedule from Sunday to Friday, 11am-9pm, dispatching on a five-day route from Marietta, GA to Lebanon, TN. There is also a generous welcome bonus of $5,000 for eligible candidates. This role involves operating tractor-trailers (day cab/sleeper), tandem trailers, or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes to pick up logistics loads or other food and non-food product loads, ensuring timely and safe delivery. Drivers serve as vital links in the food supply chain by maintaining product integrity and providing excellent customer service, as they become the face of the company to clients.
The role requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and includes various responsibilities such as conducting load inspections, completing driver paperwork accurately, and coordinating with supervisors on routes and schedules. Performance Food Group emphasizes a safe, respectful, and rewarding work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional communication with customers, vendors, and co-workers. This career path offers growth opportunities within a company at the forefront of the food distribution industry and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and wellness benefits from day one, an employee stock purchase plan, employer-matched 401K, education assistance, and paid time off.
This position is crucial for sustaining the company's promise of delivering the right products efficiently and professionally, supporting America's food distribution system, and representing the company's values in every delivery made.
