The company offers competitive pay including a starting wage of $29.70 per hour with additional component pay following a brief training period. Employees benefit from a flexible schedule running Sunday through Thursday with varying start and end times, plus the advantage of being home daily, which supports a healthy work-life balance. The employment opportunity is for a CDL A Shuttle Driver position requiring a CDL A license with a doubles endorsement. The role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

As a Shuttle Driver at Performance Foodservice, your main responsibility will be to transport empty trailers to various Operating Company warehouse locations and return with full trailers to domicile or shuttle yard locations. This role involves operating tandem trailers, tractor-trailers, or straight trucks while adhering to intrastate and interstate routes. You will be expected to maintain compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, drive safely and efficiently, and maintain timely deliveries.

In addition to driving, the Shuttle Driver is responsible for performing all required safety checks including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring freight is properly loaded and secured, promptly reporting any safety hazards or vehicle repair needs, and managing route paperwork accurately. The position requires involvement in hook/unhook procedures, parking and storing equipment appropriately, collecting and securing damaged goods and customer returns, and maintaining the cleanliness and orderly state of tractor trailers and work areas. Compliance with federal, state, and company regulations through diligent record keeping and log entry of service hours is also essential.

Working as a Shuttle Driver at Performance Foodservice means being an integral part of the team that supports America’s food distribution system. The role offers opportunities for growth, rewards, recognition, and an inclusive environment that values respect and safety. Employees can expect day-one health and wellness benefits, participation in an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and many other benefits.
