Job Description
Performance Foodservice, a broadline distributor under the Performance Food Group (PFG), stands out as a trusted partner to a diverse range of customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. With an extensive network supported by knowledgeable sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and various experts, the company is dedicated to building close relationships with its clients. This approach allows Performance Foodservice not only to supply high-quality products but also to deliver consultative services that enhance operational efficiency, menu development, product selection, and overall business performance. The company is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and rewarding working environment that fosters employee growth and development.
This job posting invites applications for the position of Shuttle Driver. This role is pivotal to the efficient operation of Performance Foodservice’s logistics and supply chain functions. The Shuttle Driver’s primary responsibility involves transporting empty trailers to operating company warehouse locations and subsequently delivering fully loaded trailers to domicile or shuttle yard locations. This position requires the operation of tandem trailers, tractor trailers, or straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes. The role demands adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, ensuring the safe, timely, and compliant transport of goods.
Working Sunday through Friday with a schedule that includes one to three trips dispatching between 2:30 pm and 12:00 am depending on load, the Shuttle Driver plays a key role in maintaining Performance Foodservice’s exemplary standards in product delivery. The position offers a competitive annual pay range of $60,000 to $70,000, complemented by quarterly performance incentives that can total up to $2,000 annually if all benchmarks are met. Additionally, new hires will undergo a comprehensive two-week training program in Temple, TX, to ensure they are fully prepared for the demands of the role. An enticing $5,000 sign-on bonus is also available, subject to eligibility conditions.
Performance Foodservice values its employees and offers a robust benefits package that includes day-one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and numerous additional perks. The company is known for fostering a culture of rewards, recognition, respect, and safety, making it an employer of choice for individuals seeking a meaningful career in the food distribution industry.
The Shuttle Driver must communicate professionally and effectively with customers, vendors, and coworkers to ensure any questions or needs are addressed promptly. The role requires team collaboration and flexibility, as drivers may be asked to perform other company-assigned duties to support operational excellence. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who take pride in supporting America’s food distribution system through safe driving practices, reliability, and outstanding customer service.
