Performance Foodservice stands out in the industry by going beyond the standard supplier role, emphasizing partnership, customer success, and operational excellence. \n\nThe position of Shuttle Driver at Performance Foodservice offers an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in the company’s operational framework. This role involves transporting empty trailers to various Operating Company warehouse locations and delivering fully loaded trailers to domicile and shuttle yard locations. The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely driving tandem trailers, tractor trailers, and/or straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. These responsibilities ensure that the company’s logistical operations run smoothly, supporting the food distribution system across America. The work schedule for this position is Sunday through Thursday evenings, specifically dispatching between 6 pm and 8 pm, offering a consistent and predictable schedule. Pay ranges from $204 to $255 per night, reflecting the essential nature of the role and the company's commitment to competitive compensation. \n\nAdditionally, new hires participate in a mandatory two-week training program located in Little Rock, ensuring they are fully prepared for the responsibilities of the job. The position also involves hands-on tasks such as hooking and unhooking trailers, securing loads, handling customer returns, and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness around trailers and work areas. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Twelve months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL A with doubles endorsement
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • Work required 3rd shift schedule Sunday - Thursday nights
  • Pass pre-employment drug test
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT health card or able to secure new DOT health card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
  • product generally ranges from approximately 60 to 90 pounds depending on location

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Twelve months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL A with doubles endorsement
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past three years
  • Ability to work third shift schedule Sunday through Thursday nights
  • Pass pre-employment drug test
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT health card or ability to secure one
  • Ability to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment to move product cases/freight

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Ensure all required route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available upon dispatch
  • Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedule
  • Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines
  • Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas
