The company prides itself on fostering close relationships with its customers through a dynamic team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other hospitality experts who provide advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. This dedication to customer service and quality has positioned Performance Foodservice as a trusted partner in the food distribution industry, helping independent restaurant owners and other clients realize their business goals and exceed expectations. The Shuttle Driver role at Performance Foodservice is an essential position responsible for the efficient and safe transportation of empty and full trailers between operating company warehouse locations and domicile or shuttle yard locations. This role offers a competitive annual pay range of $60,000 to $70,000 with additional performance incentives that can earn the driver up to $2,000 annually based on quarterly performance. The position also includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus subject to eligibility terms, two weeks of training in Temple, Texas, and a range of comprehensive benefits starting from day one of employment. The work schedule requires availability Sunday through Friday, typically between 2:30 p.m. and midnight, handling 1-3 trips per shift depending on the load.

In this role, the Shuttle Driver will operate commercial vehicles including tandem trailers, tractor-trailers, and straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies are strictly followed. Key responsibilities include performing safety checks and vehicle inspections, reporting safety issues and repairs, ensuring trailers are properly loaded and secured, and completing all required route paperwork accurately. Drivers are expected to manage hook/unhook procedures safely, park and store equipment correctly, secure freight and equipment, and handle damaged goods and customer returns appropriately.

The position demands professionalism in communication with customers, vendors, and coworkers, maintaining a team-oriented mindset and adaptability to perform additional duties that support company operations. The role requires physical ability to handle freight ranging from 60 to 90 pounds using equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates. Candidates must possess a valid CDL A driver's license with doubles endorsement, meet state licensing and health certification requirements, and successfully complete pre-employment drug and road tests. This is a third-shift role, predominantly Sunday through Thursday nights, requiring reliability and adherence to strict safety and operational guidelines.
