The role of Shuttle Driver at Core-Mark is critical to the company’s operations, facilitating seamless transportation and delivery of goods that support America’s food distribution system. This position is based in Bakersfield, California, and offers competitive compensation at a rate of $24.50 per hour. Employment is full-time with a schedule from Sunday to Thursday, working the evening shift from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM. The Shuttle Driver is responsible for operating tandem trailers, tractor trailers, and straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, managing both empty trailers and full load deliveries between warehouse locations and shuttle yards. This role demands a high standard of safety compliance, adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues.

Job Requirements
- Must have Class A CDL
- Must be 21 years of age or above
- Must have doubles/triples endorsement
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
- Valid DOT health card or able to secure new DOT health card
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move product cases/freight
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- 6+ months tractor trailer commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL A with doubles and triples endorsement
- Must be 21 years of age
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
- Pass pre-employment drug test
- Pass road test
- Valid current DOT health card and/or able to secure new DOT health card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- Report all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Ensure all required route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available to driver upon dispatch
- Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedule
- Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines
- Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas
