The role of Shuttle Driver at Performance Foodservice is essential to the smooth operations of the company’s supply chain and logistics. This position is primarily responsible for transporting empty trailers to Operating Company warehouse locations and delivering loaded trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. As part of this role, the driver operates a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, and/or straight truck on both intrastate and interstate routes. The job entails adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies to ensure the safe and timely transport of goods.

The schedule for this position is Sunday through Thursday evenings, with dispatch hours from 6 PM to 8 PM. New hires are required to complete a mandatory 2-week training program held in Little Rock, with travel and logistics arranged during the interview phase. The pay rate for this role ranges from $204 to $255 per night, reflecting the importance and responsibility of the position.

Shuttle Drivers play a vital role not only in the physical movement of trailers and goods but also in maintaining communication with customers, vendors, and coworkers in a professional manner. The role demands attention to safety by performing all required vehicle inspections before and after trips, reporting safety concerns, and ensuring freight is properly secured.
