The Shred-it Route Driver position is a critical role within WM’s Healthcare Solutions group. This position involves providing industry-leading document destruction services to clients, ensuring the safe transport and destruction of confidential materials in adherence to company policy and all local and federal regulations. The Shred-it Route Driver is responsible for the security and timely servicing of assigned routes, operating company vehicles safely, and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform a variety of physical activities, including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, often in various weather conditions or inside garages and shops.

The compensation for the Shred-it Route Driver position is competitive, offering $17.00 per hour, paid weekly. The work schedule is four 10-hour weekdays with a 6:30 AM start, providing a stable and community-focused work environment. Job Requirements

  • 3 years of experience preferably in driving box trucks and route management
  • Current personal driver’s license (Class 5) with an excellent driving record
  • Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking and hearing
  • Available to work weekdays on a 4/10 schedule starting at 6:30 AM

Job Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience preferably in driving box trucks and route management
  • Current personal driver’s license (Class 5) with an excellent driving record
  • High school diploma or GED (accredited) preferred

Job Duties

  • Performs onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information
  • Performs pre/post-trip checks and driver check-in on assigned truck prior to leaving or closing for the day
  • Reports maintenance issues to transportation/dispatcher for follow-up
  • Operates company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize injury and equipment damage
  • Complies with all local, provincial and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service
  • Maintains high level of security when emptying consoles and/or collection totes
  • Services accounts using a hand-held device ensuring console/containers are barcoded and locations are updated
  • Manages assigned routes ensuring customers' confidential material is collected and serviced timely and accurately
  • Handles and responds to customer problems and inquiries expediently
  • Performs other duties as assigned
