Job Description

Stericycle is a prominent U.S.-based business-to-business services company that specializes in providing compliance-based solutions aimed at protecting people and brands, promoting health and well-being, and safeguarding the environment. Established over 30 years ago, the company has grown impressively from a modest start-up focused on medical waste management into a leader in various increasingly complex and highly regulated sectors. Serving healthcare organizations and commercial enterprises of all sizes, Stericycle is dedicated to solving complex challenges by safely managing materials that, if handled improperly, could potentially spread disease, contaminate the environment, or compromise an individual's identity.\n\nStericycle recently became part of the Waste Management family, greatly expanding its capabilities and resources while continuing its mission to protect health and well-being in a safe, responsible, and sustainable manner. This integration not only strengthens Stericycle’s market presence but also enhances operational efficiencies and customer service capacity. The company's dedication to innovation, safety, and environmental stewardship has established it as a trusted partner in the fields of document destruction, medical waste disposal, and compliance-based logistics.\n\nThe Shred-it Route Driver position at Stericycle offers a unique opportunity for individuals who are motivated and committed to delivering exceptional client service while adhering to rigorous safety and regulatory standards. This role involves managing a 26-foot box truck while performing physically demanding tasks, including handling containers that weigh over 100 pounds. The driver is responsible for the timely and secure transport and destruction of confidential documents, ensuring all activities comply with company policy as well as local and federal laws. Drivers start their weekday shifts at 7 AM, typically working a 4/10 schedule with 8 to 10-hour routes serving 20 to 30 stops per route.\n\nThe position emphasizes reliability, safety, and customer interaction, requiring the driver to perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, report any maintenance issues promptly, and operate the company's equipment efficiently to minimize the risk of injury or damage. Maintaining security during document collection is critical, as the driver must ensure all confidential materials are properly secured and transported according to rigorous standards. Additionally, drivers use handheld devices to manage route details, including barcode scanning of consoles and containers, updating locations, and verifying quantities to maintain accuracy and accountability.\n\nStericycle values diversity and welcomes candidates from various backgrounds, including non-native English speakers, provided they can understand highway traffic signs, respond to official inquiries, and complete required reporting in English. The company offers competitive pay at $22.00 per hour with weekly compensation and a comprehensive benefits package to support employees' health, financial security, and professional development. Stericycle is committed to equal employment opportunities and provides accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Join Stericycle and be part of a team that takes great pride in delivering services that contribute to a healthier, safer, and cleaner environment.
