The role available is for a Bakery Associate who will play a crucial part in supporting the Bakery Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the bakery department. This position involves multiple functions such as baking, mixing dough, icing pastries, packaging, and filling designated bread and pastry items. The associate will be responsible for maintaining the bakery's cleanliness, sanitation, and visual appeal to create a welcoming environment for customers. Additionally, the associate will adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and quality assurance standards. The work environment may include exposure to varying temperatures and handling fresh, dried, or processed bakery ingredients. The role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

This is a full-time position that requires standing and walking for the entire shift, often exceeding eight hours. It involves repetitive physical activities such as lifting, pulling, and pushing merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs. Associating with customers in a friendly and helpful manner is essential, along with cooperation within the team to meet department goals. The associate will engage in routine cleaning and sanitation duties, operate baking and food processing equipment, and carry out inventory management and product rotation to guarantee freshness and quality.

The Bakery Associate is expected to comply with local, state, and federal health regulations and company guidelines related to food safety and hygiene, including hand washing standards and the use of disposable gloves when handling food. The position entails following precise recipes to ensure product consistency and quality. Additional responsibilities include receiving deliveries, managing special order requests, monitoring equipment performance, and assisting other departments when necessary. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs, and occasionally lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
  • Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products without allergic reactions
  • Ability to comply with work schedules and attendance policies
  • Ability to adhere to company grooming and uniform policies

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • Maintain department sanitation and QA standards
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
  • Greet all Customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance
  • Pack out product into display cases
  • Rotate product to ensure freshness
  • Prepare trays to Company's and Customer's satisfaction
