The role we are offering is that of a Bakery Associate, a pivotal position that supports the Bakery Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Bakery Department. This full-time role is crucial to ensuring that bakery items, including pastries and bread, are prepared flawlessly. The associate will be responsible for tasks such as baking, mixing dough, icing, packaging, and filling various bakery products, maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the department, and ensuring that all safety, sanitation, and quality assurance standards are met meticulously. The Bakery Associate plays a frontline role in delivering an outstanding customer experience by combining professional baking skills with a friendly and customer-centric approach. This position demands not only technical bakery and food preparation skills but also a strong commitment to teamwork, cleanliness, safety practices, and customer service excellence. Throughout the shift, the associate is expected to maintain an organized and neat workspace, handle merchandise carefully to ensure freshness and quality, and actively engage with customers in a courteous and helpful manner. They must also comply with company policies, local and federal health regulations, and safety guidelines to uphold the integrity and reputation of our bakery services.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and lift regularly up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • ability to work in varying temperatures
  • ability to work with fresh, dried, or processed products and spices without allergic reaction
  • ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
  • must be at least 18 years old to operate machinery such as balers and slicing machines
  • ability to work assigned schedules and comply with attendance policies

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand the English language

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • maintain department sanitation and quality assurance standards
  • clean and sanitize work surfaces, utensils and equipment
  • keep floor clear of debris and spills
  • greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service
  • maintain and properly use all department equipment
  • pack products into display cases and rotate stock to ensure freshness
  • ensure accurate signage and prepare trays to company and customer satisfaction
  • perform duties following local, state and federal regulations
  • dress and groom according to company policy
  • follow recipes and operate bakery equipment
  • prepare special orders and track sales
  • take inventory and reorder supplies
  • handle reclaim and damaged goods per policy
  • unload trucks and transport merchandise
  • promote charitable sales initiatives
  • stand for the duration of scheduled shifts
  • assist other departments as needed
  • adhere to company safety, security, and hygiene standards
  • maintain punctual and regular attendance
  • work overtime as assigned
  • perform other duties as assigned
