The organization operates multiple franchises, including BMW, MINI, Volkswagen, Jaguar, and Land Rover, spread across Naperville and Hinsdale, Illinois. Their commitment to excellence and innovation is evident not only in the premium cars they sell but also in the supportive and growth-oriented work environment they provide to their employees.

The Shop Porter role is designed specifically for individuals aspiring to build their careers as automotive technicians. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for those currently enrolled in technical training programs, such as at UTI or other similar institutions, who wish to gain practical experience and foundational knowledge in a busy, dynamic shop environment. As a Shop Porter, you will work closely with dealership management and skilled technicians in the Service Department to support day-to-day operations. This role is more than just assisting with logistical tasks; it serves as an essential stepping stone for anyone looking to break into the automotive technology field and develop a hands-on understanding of vehicle service and repair.

In this role, the Shop Porter is responsible for a range of important duties including transporting vehicles in and out of the shop for technicians, maintaining the tool room with special tools organized and accessible, scraping tires, and performing light cleaning to uphold a safe and efficient workspace. Additional responsibilities include shuttling customers, picking up and delivering cars, racking vehicles in the shop, and washing cars to maintain dealership presentation standards. This comprehensive exposure to shop operations fosters a strong foundation in automotive technology principles and service department workflows, preparing individuals for future advancement.

Working at Bill Jacobs Volkswagen means becoming part of a company that values each team member’s unique perspective and contribution. The dealership fosters a positive and supportive environment that emphasizes professional growth, offering opportunities for training and career advancement within the organization. Full-time team members benefit from a robust package of offerings, including outstanding health insurance plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, generous dental and vision coverage, life insurance, and additional supplemental insurance options such as pet insurance and identity theft protection.

Moreover, Bill Jacobs Volkswagen provides a 401K plan with company contributions, generous paid time off, and exclusive employee discounts on vehicle purchases, parts, and service. A strong wellness culture is supported through employee and family wellness programs, free on-site health coaching, and access to an on-site physician assistant for minor health concerns and preventative care during work hours. The company also encourages employees interested in furthering their education by offering a generous tuition reimbursement program.

The Bill Jacobs organization holds high standards of respect, integrity, social responsibility, and excellence.
