Job Description
Marmon Aerospace & Defense is a key player in the defense industry, delivering a comprehensive range of connectivity products and services that cater to Land, Sea, Air, and Space applications. This specialized company offers custom wire and cable solutions, coil cords, cable assemblies, as well as tools, testing, training, and installation services. Marmon Aerospace & Defense serves as a one-stop-shop for harsh environment connectivity solutions, ensuring that its offerings meet the highest standards of performance and reliability required by defense sectors.
Located in Manchester, NH, the company’s manufacturing center is staffed with a dedicated team focused on producing high-performance wire and cable products. These products utilize both high and low temperature materials and are custom-designed to meet the most stringent specifications. The organization prides itself on engineering and manufacturing excellence, providing customers with products crafted with precision and expertise.
The Shipping Clerk role at Marmon Aerospace & Defense is a full-time position based at the Manchester facility, operating Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. This role is integral to the company’s supply chain and logistics processes, ensuring that all outbound shipments are accurately prepared and securely packaged. As a physical position, the role demands the use of proper lifting techniques and a commitment to maintaining safety standards throughout all material handling and shipping procedures.
In this capacity, the Shipping Clerk will engage in various duties, including preparing and labeling orders for shipment by boxing, labeling, and palletizing; wrapping and strapping pallets to guarantee secure transportation; and managing the loading and unloading of trucks with a focus on safe and efficient handling of materials. The role also involves organizing the shipping and receiving areas to optimize workflow and storage, reviewing and verifying documentation for shipment accuracy, scheduling carrier pickups with services like FedEx and UPS, and delivering materials internally to production departments when required.
The Shipping Clerk is expected to perform inventory checks of shipping supplies and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained to support continuous operations. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace is essential to facilitate smooth logistics processes, alongside managing return-to-stock activities and assisting with inventory control tasks. Furthermore, this position requires a candidate who is willing to attain forklift certification if not already certified, comfortable with the physical demands of the job, and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Compensation for this role is offered at $1.00 per hour, reflecting an opportunity for those seeking entry-level engagement and growth within a reputable company. The position comes with an attractive benefits package, including 401(k) plans with matching contributions, dental, health, and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and various other employee support programs. Marmon Aerospace & Defense emphasizes reliability and a safety-minded approach and seeks hardworking individuals ready to contribute to their expanding operations and supportive work environment.
