Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the coffeehouse industry, renowned for its quality coffee, community connection, and commitment to fostering a positive customer experience. Established with the mission of crafting the world’s finest coffee, Starbucks has grown into a household name by creating warm and welcoming spaces where customers not only enjoy premium beverages but also meaningful moments that spark connections. The company’s dedication extends beyond just serving coffee; it aims to be a positive force in every community it serves. Starbucks is known for its inclusive culture, industry-leading benefits, and its focus on career development and growth opportunities for partners, which is how the company refers to its employees.

As a shift supervisor at Starbucks, you will play a pivotal role in leading your coffeehouse team with both craft and heart. This position entails more than just managing a team; it involves creating an environment where every cup of coffee serves as a bridge in building relationships within the community. Shift supervisors are entrusted to uphold store operating policies and standards, ensure the safety and security of the store, and maintain the highest quality in beverage and food preparation. Your leadership will be vital in guiding partners on shift, helping coach them to deliver exceptional customer service and ensuring operational excellence throughout the day. This role is perfect for those who thrive in a dynamic environment, enjoy mentoring others, and are passionate about quality and a welcoming atmosphere.

Starbucks invests heavily in the growth and development of its partners, providing opportunities for learning and advancement through hands-on experiences and comprehensive training. Beyond professional growth, the company offers a robust benefits package that supports partners and their families, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options. Partners gain access to paid parental leave, vacation accrual, sick time, and holiday pay, reflecting Starbucks’ commitment to work-life balance. The company’s dedication to education is exemplified by its College Achievement Plan, which offers 100% tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University’s online program. Additionally, financial well-being tools, emergency savings incentives, and stock equity programs underline Starbucks’ efforts to foster financial security among their partners.

The role requires flexibility as shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays. Effective communication, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and manage a team are essential. As a shift supervisor, you will delegate tasks, coordinate team efforts, and ensure each shift runs smoothly, creating a pleasant and efficient environment for both partners and customers. By embodying Starbucks’ values and enriching the customer experience, you help to continue the company’s tradition of excellence and community connection in every location where Starbucks operates.
