Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized coffeehouse chain known for crafting some of the world’s finest coffee and creating a welcoming community space. Since its inception, Starbucks has been dedicated to ensuring every cup of coffee symbolizes connection and warmth. With thousands of locations worldwide, Starbucks is more than just a coffee retailer; it is a cultural icon where people gather to share meaningful moments. The company prides itself on fostering an inclusive environment where partners, as employees are called, can thrive personally and professionally through opportunities for growth, innovation, and community engagement.

As a shift supervisor at Starbucks, you will be at the heart of this community experience, leading with both craft and heart to make your coffeehouse a welcoming space for customers and your team. This role is essential in ensuring operational excellence during shifts, maintaining high-quality beverage and food standards, and inspiring your team to deliver memorable customer service. The shift supervisor is expected to manage daily store operations effectively — from coaching and development of baristas, handling cash and resources responsibly, to ensuring safety and security protocols are adhered to. You will coordinate with your team to uphold Starbucks' commitment to quality, efficiency, and the unique customer experience that defines its brand.

This position requires leadership skills, a passion for coffee, and an ability to connect with customers and partners alike. As a leader on shift, you will not only oversee the preparation of drinks and food but also serve as a role model, ensuring every partner is empowered to perform at their best. The role demands flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Starbucks invests deeply in the growth of its partners, providing access to comprehensive benefits, developmental experiences, and educational opportunities, including tuition support for first-time bachelor’s degree completion. The workplace culture at Starbucks emphasizes respect, inclusion, and continuous learning to help you succeed in your career and life.

Additionally, Starbucks offers competitive pay commensurate with geographic location and candidate experience. Partners will receive access to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid parental leave, vacation time, sick leave, 401(k) plans with employer match, stock programs, financial well-being tools, and much more. The company maintains a commitment to equal opportunity and reasonable accommodations, ensuring a fair and supportive workplace for all. Starbucks is more than a job; it is a community where every partner can contribute to crafting not only exceptional coffee but also meaningful moments for customers and themselves.
