With thousands of locations worldwide, Starbucks is committed to creating a warm and welcoming space where every cup of coffee sparks a connection, brightening someone’s day one shift at a time. The company has a strong culture centered on respect, diversity, and personal growth, providing its partners with ample opportunities to develop their skills and grow professionally within a supportive work environment. Starbucks invests in its employees by offering competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a career development journey designed to empower partners through meaningful experiences.
The role of a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks is pivotal to maintaining the high standards and welcoming atmosphere that customers expect. As a Shift Supervisor, you will lead with both craft and heart, ensuring that your coffeehouse is not just a place to get coffee but a community hub where guests feel valued and appreciated. This position involves managing the store operations during your shift, including overseeing the preparation of beverages and food items to meet quality standards and handling cash transactions accurately. You will guide and support a team of baristas, delegating tasks and coordinating efforts to deliver smooth and efficient service. Your leadership will inspire the team to maintain Starbucks' retail policies and standards while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
Starbucks values flexibility and dedication in this role, as the schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays to meet the needs of the business and community. The position requires a minimum of six months of experience working in a customer-facing role where interaction and fulfillment of customer requests were constant, as well as leadership experience delegating tasks or coordinating a team. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment are critical to success. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about coffee culture, eager to develop their leadership capabilities, and committed to creating exceptional customer experiences.
Starbucks offers a range of industry-leading benefits to its partners and their families, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance options, disability coverage, and paid parental leave. Vacation time accrues based on hours worked, and paid sick time and holiday pay are also provided. Partners can participate in a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match and have access to a discounted company stock purchase program. Starbucks also supports educational advancement through the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, which covers 100% of tuition for a first-time bachelor's degree via Arizona State University’s online program, and offers additional financial well-being resources. This commitment to partner well-being and career growth makes Starbucks not only a great place to work but a community where partners feel supported and valued throughout their careers.
