Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the coffeehouse industry, known for crafting the world’s finest coffee and fostering meaningful connections through every cup. As an established and trusted brand, Starbucks operates thousands of stores worldwide, serving millions of customers each day with high-quality beverages and food products in a welcoming, community-centric atmosphere. The company is dedicated not only to providing exceptional coffee experiences but also to creating a workplace culture where employees — referred to as partners — are supported, valued, and empowered. Starbucks places significant emphasis on inclusive growth, offering industry-leading benefits and a supportive environment that encourages partners to thrive both personally and professionally.

The role of a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks is both dynamic and rewarding, centered on leadership, operational excellence, and customer engagement. In this position, you will lead a team to create a warm and inviting space where every customer feels welcomed and every coffee served is made with craft and care. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing store operations during designated shifts, ensuring high standards of product quality, safety, and customer service are consistently met. You will play a crucial role in coaching team members, delegating tasks efficiently, and maintaining a smooth workflow to meet store goals. This leadership role requires excellent interpersonal skills, quick learning capabilities, and the ability to inspire others through example and effective communication.

Starbucks values versatility in work hours; therefore, Shift Supervisors must be available for flexible scheduling, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays. This role demands a balance of hands-on teamwork and supervisory skills, alongside a keen understanding of retail operations and customer service excellence. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Shift Supervisor will actively contribute to a positive work environment where collaboration and relationship-building among partners foster both individual success and shared achievements.

With a commitment to partner development, Starbucks provides continuous learning opportunities and developmental experiences, helping you grow your skills and advance your career within the company. As a Starbucks partner, you and your family gain access to comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance options, paid parental and vacation leave, disability coverage, and a robust retirement plan. Moreover, Starbucks offers unique benefits including tuition coverage for first-time bachelor’s degrees through Arizona State University’s online program, financial well-being resources, and additional incentives promoting work-life balance.

Joining Starbucks as a Shift Supervisor means becoming part of a globally respected organization that prizes integrity, quality, and community engagement. You will be instrumental in shaping the daily Starbucks experience by leading your team with passion, care, and a shared commitment to excellence. This role isn’t just about managing a shift; it’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of customers and colleagues alike, brewing moments of connection one cup at a time.
