Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company stands as a global leader in the coffeehouse industry, renowned for crafting the world’s finest coffee and nurturing meaningful connections with customers at every cup. Founded with a mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time – Starbucks has grown into a thriving enterprise that champions community, sustainability, and exceptional quality. The company’s coffeehouses serve as vibrant gathering spots, combining rich, expertly brewed beverages with warm, inviting environments where customers feel valued and engaged. Starbucks is deeply committed to fostering a supportive workplace, offering partners (employees) the opportunity to grow professionally and personally through expansive developmental experiences alongside industry-leading benefits. This dedication to partner growth and customer satisfaction shines through in every aspect of its operations, making Starbucks an employer of choice within the hospitality and retail sector.

The role of a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks is pivotal in ensuring that each coffeehouse delivers on the promise of quality and connection. This position requires a blend of leadership, operational excellence, and a deep passion for coffee culture. As a Shift Supervisor, you are a key figure in guiding your team to create a welcoming, positive atmosphere where every customer interaction is meaningful. You will lead by example, fostering a culture of craft and compassion while ensuring compliance with all store policies and standards. Your responsibilities will include managing day-to-day operations, coaching partners on preparing food and beverages to precise recipe standards, and handling cash and store security with conscientious attention. Flexibility is essential as you will work varied shifts – early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays – to meet the dynamic needs of the business.

Starbucks values consistency, reliability, and the ability to multitask while maintaining exceptional service standards. The ideal candidate will have prior customer-facing experience demonstrating strong interpersonal and team leadership skills. You will also be entrusted with delegating tasks efficiently to ensure smooth, collaborative team operations. Beyond operational duties, Starbucks invests in your growth journey with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid parental leave, vacation time, and education support such as tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University’s online program. Additional perks like 401(k) plans with employer matching, stock programs, and financial well-being tools further enrich the partner experience.

Joining Starbucks as a Shift Supervisor means becoming part of a company dedicated to equality, inclusion, and community impact. Starbucks Coffee Company is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, committed to offering reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities and embracing diversity in all its forms. As a partner, you will play a crucial part in creating meaningful moments, one cup at a time, while advancing your career in an inspiring, globally recognized brand renowned for its social responsibility and outstanding coffee craftsmanship.
