Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the coffeehouse industry, known for crafting the finest coffee and creating meaningful moments for its customers. Founded in 1971, Starbucks has grown to become a beloved brand with thousands of stores worldwide, dedicated to delivering exceptional coffee experiences. The company emphasizes quality, community, and connection, ensuring that every visit to a Starbucks store is more than just a coffee run—it is a chance to brighten someone’s day with warmth and care. Starbucks operates as a premier coffeehouse chain, blending craft and heart to foster an inviting atmosphere where customers feel valued and welcomed. The brand is committed to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and supporting the communities it serves, making it a pioneer not only in coffee but also in corporate responsibility and partner well-being.

The role of a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks centers around leadership, customer service, and operational excellence. As a Shift Supervisor, you are entrusted with maintaining a positive, productive environment in the coffeehouse by leading with both craft and heart. This position requires managing day-to-day store operations, coaching and developing team members, and ensuring the delivery of quality beverages and food items according to Starbucks’ standards. The Shift Supervisor is pivotal in creating a welcoming space for the community, fostering teamwork, and setting the tone for a memorable customer experience. You will utilize your interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with both partners (employees) and customers, effectively directing daily tasks and supporting the store manager.

Starbucks supports your growth journey by providing developmental opportunities and industry-leading benefits aimed at empowering its partners. The company offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, vacation and sick time, 401(k) plans with employer match, and education benefits like full tuition for a first-time bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University. These benefits reflect Starbucks’ commitment to partner well-being and long-term success. Starbucks also encourages diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring a workplace where all partners feel respected and supported. This is a full-time position with flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, designed to meet both business needs and partner availability. Compensation for the role varies by location and experience, typically starting at the entry point of the pay range for the area.

Joining Starbucks as a Shift Supervisor means becoming part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your leadership helps shape the daily coffeehouse experience. You will play a critical role in balancing operational demands with creating a friendly, community-focused atmosphere, all while advancing your career with a globally renowned brand. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive on customer interaction, team leadership, and continuous learning within a supportive and inclusive company culture.
