Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is renowned globally as a leading premium coffee retailer and wholesaler, dedicated to crafting the world’s finest coffee, one meaningful moment at a time. Founded in 1971, Starbucks has steadily grown into a cultural icon known for its quality beverages, innovative products, and a commitment to creating a warm and welcoming environment for communities everywhere. With stores in numerous countries, Starbucks continues to uphold its mission of inspiring and nurturing the human spirit, one cup and one neighborhood at a time. Known not only for its coffee but also for its strong company values and focus on diversity, inclusion, and sustainability, Starbucks fosters a unique culture that emphasizes positive connections, personal growth, and community engagement. Starbucks offers an inclusive workplace where partners (employees) are supported and empowered through comprehensive benefits and developmental experiences.

The role of a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks is pivotal in creating a welcoming, enjoyable coffeehouse experience for customers and partners alike. As a shift supervisor, you will lead with craft and heart, ensuring that every shift runs smoothly while maintaining the high standards Starbucks is known for—including quality beverages, food products, and service. This leadership position requires overseeing store operations during scheduled shifts, coaching and supporting partners, and ensuring that all tasks are delegated and completed efficiently. You will be instrumental in fostering a team-driven environment where every partner feels valued and equipped to deliver exceptional customer service.

This position demands a strong focus on operational excellence, store safety, and cash handling, with a flexible approach to work hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays. The shift supervisor will also be deeply invested in facilitating partner growth through mentoring and training opportunities, supporting team cohesion, and maintaining store operating policies and standards.

Starbucks provides industry-leading benefits that invest in your growth journey, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options, paid parental leave, family expansion reimbursements, paid vacation, sick time, holiday pay, and a 401(k)-retirement plan with an employer match. Starbucks also offers unique educational benefits like the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, which provides 100% tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree via Arizona State University’s online program, along with other educational opportunities and financial well-being tools. These benefits demonstrate Starbucks’ commitment to supporting its partners both professionally and personally.

Working as a shift supervisor at Starbucks means embracing a role that balances leadership, customer service excellence, and operational management, all within a collaborative environment that values diversity and inclusion. You will become part of a global community that celebrates individuality, encourages growth, and drives positive social impact. Join Starbucks as a shift supervisor and play a key role in making every customer interaction memorable and every partner experience rewarding. Starbucks Coffee Company stands as an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities and maintaining a workplace that respects and values all individuals.
