Job Description
This job posting is for a restaurant position at an establishment owned and operated by an independent franchisee of Jack in the Box. Unlike positions directly employed by Jack in the Box Inc., this role is under the management and employment of the independent franchisee, who handles all employment-related matters including hiring, firing, discipline, wages, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. This setup means that the employee will interact directly with the franchise, allowing a potentially more personalized and hands-on working environment specific to the franchise owner's management style. The restaurant belongs to a well-known and reputable fast-food brand, recognized for its quick service and consistent quality, providing an energetic and fast-paced work setting ideal for individuals who thrive in customer-facing roles that demand both efficiency and a positive attitude.
Joining this restaurant team as a Team Leader offers the opportunity to develop key supervisory skills in a dynamic customer service environment. This role requires a minimum of 40 hours per week but may vary depending on business needs, ensuring engagement throughout various shifts including weekends and holidays. Team Leaders play a crucial part in maintaining high standards within the restaurant by supervising team members, ensuring excellent customer service, and upholding the brand's core values and quality guidelines. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in similar fast-food or customer service-driven positions, looking to advance into a leadership role. It involves direct interaction with guests, motivating and training staff, and ensuring an enjoyable and safe environment for both employees and customers.
The ideal candidate will have at least six months of experience working with Jack in the Box and be certified across all key workstations, demonstrating thorough knowledge of restaurant operations. Supervisory experience of at least one year in a customer service business is preferable, indicating a strong capability in managing teams within fast-paced and demanding environments. The role is also suited for internal promotions, highlighting the company's preference for rewarding dedication, ethical behavior, and integrity from within the existing workforce.
In addition to supervisory tasks, successful candidates must complete Team Leader training programs and achieve ServSafe or equivalent certification, emphasizing the importance of food safety and regulatory compliance. This combination of training equips the Team Leader to efficiently manage daily operations, address guest concerns effectively using proven customer service techniques such as the C A R E model—courtesy, apology, resolution, and extra effort—and ensure that the restaurant adheres to cleanliness and maintenance standards.
The Team Leader not only oversees daily functioning but also serves as a role model reflecting the company’s values by maintaining visibility on the floor, greeting guests with genuine warmth, and fostering an inclusive workplace free from biases. This role demands strong communication, problem-solving, and mathematical skills, alongside the physical capability to stand for long periods and assist with various operational tasks such as lifting and order management.
Overall, this position is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals to take on leadership responsibilities within a respected fast-food franchise, acquire valuable hospitality and management experience, and contribute to a welcoming and productive restaurant atmosphere.
