Job Description

Wonder is a dynamic and innovative mealtime platform dedicated to transforming how people experience dining. Unlike traditional restaurants, Wonder offers a unique culinary model where customers can satisfy diverse cravings by ordering from multiple exclusive restaurants in one simple order. This forward-thinking approach removes the usual dining compromises, giving everyone the freedom to mix and match hundreds of dishes — from tacos to Thai — all with zero delivery fees. With Wonder, patrons can enjoy the flexibility of dining in or picking up orders at a convenient Wonder location nearby, ensuring that each dish is freshly made on-site and served hot. Behind the culinary variety and convenience lies Wonder's integrated operation, which manages every aspect of the dining experience, including recipe development, food preparation, and the innovative technology platform that drives the seamless ordering journey. This holistic control enables Wonder to deliver consistent quality and a vast variety of options at scale.

Currently, Wonder is seeking a highly motivated Shift Supervisor to join its South Philly kitchen team. This role is central to maintaining the exceptional service and food quality that Wonder promises its customers. Offering both full-time and part-time opportunities, the position pays $20 per hour, with an additional premium of $2 per hour for overnight shifts worked between midnight and 5 a.m. The Shift Supervisor will act as the leader within the restaurant, overseeing critical kitchen operations during their shift. This includes managing opening, preparation, and closing procedures, ensuring all team members work efficiently and collaboratively to meet operational goals. As a Shift Supervisor, you will coordinate closely with chefs and other departments, ensuring that customer orders are processed accurately and delivered promptly. A key responsibility also involves inventory management, where you will communicate with staff about stock levels and supply needs, maintaining inventory controls consistent with company protocols.

Further, this role demands diligent adherence to safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards across the kitchen and back-of-house areas, guaranteeing that all cleaning schedules are respected and health department regulations are met. The Shift Supervisor must also monitor operational costs to stay within budget guidelines while ensuring kitchen equipment is safely operated and properly maintained. Leading by example, the Shift Supervisor holds accountability for upholding Wonder's professional and ethical standards. Regular briefings with front- and back-of-house teams are part of the routine, enhancing team communication and readiness before and after service. The position also supports the continuous development of restaurant employees through active participation in training and coaching programs.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates who bring at least one year of supervisory experience in quick service or full-service restaurant environments and have a proven ability to lead, motivate, and maintain high standards in a fast-paced setting. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to efficiency and accuracy are essential. Wonder values team players with a professional attitude who are ready to foster a positive workplace culture. Working at Wonder means joining a company that champions diversity, equity, and inclusion, with steadfast commitment to fair hiring practices and equal opportunity for all individuals. If you are passionate about food service leadership and want to be part of a company that is redefining the culinary experience, Wonder offers a rewarding environment with opportunities for growth and advancement.
