The Operations Supervisor role at Ryder is a critical position within the maintenance operations team, specifically located in Omaha, NE. This salaried role operates within a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and offers a competitive salary range between $60,000 and $65,000 annually, along with eligibility for an annual bonus and a full benefits package. As an integral part of Ryder’s operations team, the Ops Supervisor assists the Operations Manager or Senior Operations Manager in overseeing the daily operations and managing personnel for a particular shift at the location.

In this role, the Operations Supervisor is tasked with managing technicians, customer service coordinators, and service employees to ensure the efficient running of the shop. The supervisor strategically balances customer needs with financial, operational, safety, and quality objectives to meet or exceed business goals. Key responsibilities include workflow management, labor management, customer relationship management, asset and quality control, and financial oversight. This role demands leadership in managing performance, training staff, maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, and ensuring excellent customer service and vehicle uptime.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years experience in a maintenance operations environment
  • Maintenance and technical experience in a shop environment
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with a shop management system preferred
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage workflow by planning, scheduling, and assigning work to technicians
  • Track and optimize productivity and approve repair orders
  • Execute warranty policies and triage unscheduled customer drive-ins
  • Manage labor by training, developing, and assessing performance of assigned personnel
  • Handle customer relationship management including issue resolution and communication
  • Maintain appearance and standards of the shop location
  • Evaluate and recommend shop tooling and equipment needs
  • Manage vehicle specifications and parts inventory
  • Conduct quality inspections and in-process reviews of repairs
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure cleanliness and quality of repairs
  • Maintain compliance with safety and EPA regulations
  • Control shift/shop financial performance including cost control and budget adherence
  • Approve payroll, purchase orders, invoices, and fuel reconciliations
  • Manage customer bill back process and maintain data integrity in shop management system
