The role available at Wonder is for a Shift Supervisor, a crucial position within their kitchen operations team. As a Shift Supervisor, you play an instrumental role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and customer service. You will be responsible for overseeing restaurant team members during shifts, ensuring smooth operations from opening through closing. Whether working full-time or part-time, you will be pivotal in leading the team to achieve excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Located in Park Slope, this role offers a pay rate of $21.00 per hour, with an additional $2.00 hourly premium for overnight shifts worked between 12:00 AM and 5:00 AM. This flexible scheduling accommodates both full-time and part-time employment types.

Your duties will encompass a broad range of leadership and operational tasks. These include coordinating with the chef leadership and other departments to provide the highest quality service, processing kitchen orders and deliveries in accordance with company protocols, and maintaining communication to ensure adequate stock and supplies. You will also enforce strict safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards across all back-of-house areas, align with cleaning schedules, and monitor kitchen operational costs to remain within budget guidelines.

Ensuring that all kitchen equipment is used safely and remains in full working order will fall under your purview as well. You will conduct briefings with both front-of-house and back-of-house staff before and after service, uphold all operational and quality standards, and model professional and ethical leadership at all times. Additionally, you will participate actively in training, coaching, and employee development programs to help staff grow and Thrive within the company.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • must be able to stand for a full shift while working
  • must have open availability, including night and weekend availability

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience supervising and or leading team members in a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or full-service restaurant
  • ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
  • attention to detail and a strong drive for efficiency and accuracy
  • demonstrates professionalism and adheres to policies and procedures
  • must be able to exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills
  • strong team player

Job Duties

  • Lead the restaurant team members in all aspects of service including the opening, prep, and closing duties
  • work together with the chef leadership team and other departments to ensure our guests receive the highest quality of service
  • receive and process all kitchen orders and deliveries in line with company protocol
  • maintain communication with the restaurant staff to ensure the team has enough stock and assist them with supplies and ordering
  • ensure the appropriate safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices are followed across all back-of-house areas and in line with the cleaning schedules
  • monitor the kitchen operational costs and ensure budget guidelines are followed
  • ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely, securely and is in full working order
  • perform the relevant briefings with front and back-of-house staff pre- and post-service
  • ensure all operating and quality standards are met
  • responsible for always presenting a professional and ethical leadership style
  • participate in training, coaching, and development for restaurant employees
