Job Description
Wonder is a pioneering mealtime platform dedicated to revolutionizing the way people enjoy food. As a company, Wonder focuses on combining variety, quality, and accessibility, offering customers the ability to mix and match hundreds of dishes from over 20 exclusive restaurants in one seamless order. This innovative approach means that family members and friends can all get exactly what they want—from tacos to Thai—without the hassle of multiple orders or delivery fees. The company operates both dine-in and pick-up options at conveniently located Wonder venues, making it easy and convenient for anyone to enjoy freshly prepared meals. Behind the scenes, Wonder is unique in that it owns and manages every aspect of the dining experience. From developing proprietary recipes to managing the technology that powers the ordering and delivery systems, Wonder maintains tight control to ensure consistent quality and customer satisfaction across all locations.
Joining Wonder means becoming part of a forward-thinking, fast-growing food service company committed to making world-class cuisine accessible to everyone, regardless of location or circumstance. The company places a high value on diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring a welcoming environment that supports and values all employees. Wonder’s commitment extends to hiring with an objective lens, championing potential, and fair practices while participating in federal E-Verify for employment eligibility. Wonder is not only about great food; it is also about building an excellent workforce and workplace.
The role of Shift Supervisor at Wonder is critical to the success of its operations. This position offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities at the Rosslyn location, with a base pay rate of $21.00 per hour. Notably, overnight shifts that fall between midnight and 5:00 AM receive an additional $2.00 per hour premium, rewarding employees for working during these less conventional hours. The Shift Supervisor serves as the linchpin in the kitchen environment, overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring that the highest standards of food quality and service are consistently met. This leadership role demands a hands-on approach, coordinating with the chef leadership team as well as working closely with other departments to provide seamless, top-quality guest experiences.
Essentially, the Shift Supervisor leads by example, managing all opening, preparation, and closing duties with professionalism and efficiency. The role involves supervising order processing and deliveries, managing kitchen stock and supplies, and enforcing strict safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in line with company policies and cleaning schedules. The Shift Supervisor also monitors kitchen-related costs and budget adherence, oversees the safe and proper use of kitchen equipment, and conducts pre- and post-service briefings to keep the entire front and back-of-house team aligned. This role demands strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a dedication to fostering a positive team environment through coaching and development. By joining Wonder as a Shift Supervisor, one contributes directly to the mission of delivering extraordinary meals and exceptional service that "make great food more accessible."
