Job Description

Wonder is a pioneering mealtime platform dedicated to delivering world-class food with unparalleled convenience and accessibility. Headquartered in Hamden, Wonder offers a unique dining experience that allows customers to order from more than 20 exclusive restaurants in a single order, giving patrons the freedom to mix and match a wide variety of dishes ranging from tacos to Thai cuisine. This innovative approach eliminates typical delivery fees and offers options for dine-in or pick-up at multiple Wonder locations. Each menu item is freshly made on-site by a skilled culinary team, ensuring high quality and hot meals every time. Behind the scenes, Wonder maintains control over every aspect of the dining process, from recipe development to the advanced technology that powers its platform. This integrated system allows Wonder to guarantee consistency, variety, and excellent food quality at scale, making great food more accessible to everyone.

As a Shift Supervisor at Wonder, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to bring exceptional food to customers regardless of location. This position is essential to overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring that the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer service are met. We offer competitive pay at $21.00 per hour, with an additional $2.00 hourly premium for overnight shifts worked between midnight and 5:00 AM. We are hiring both full-time and part-time team members for the Hamden location, providing flexible employment options. As a Shift Supervisor, you will lead restaurant team members across opening, preparation, and closing duties, working closely with chef leadership and other departments to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include managing kitchen orders and deliveries, maintaining inventory and stock levels, and overseeing safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices in the back-of-house areas within strict cleaning schedules.

Additionally, the Shift Supervisor will monitor operational costs, ensuring budget compliance while maintaining the quality and efficiency of kitchen processes. You will ensure all kitchen equipment is properly used and maintained to guarantee safe and effective operation. The role also requires conducting pre- and post-service briefings with front- and back-of-house staff to promote clarity and teamwork. Acting as a professional and ethical leader, you will inspire and support the restaurant team by facilitating ongoing training, coaching, and development opportunities. This leadership position demands excellent communication skills, strong teamwork spirit, and a drive for efficiency and accuracy. If you are passionate about delivering outstanding food service in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and want to contribute to a cutting-edge food platform, this role at Wonder is an excellent fit.
