The role of Shift Supervisor at Applegreen is a vital position that requires strong leadership and operational skills. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading shift teams, ensuring that all team members provide exceptional customer service and adhere strictly to brand standards and food safety requirements. This role involves supervising daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, team training, and maintaining compliance with company policies.

In this role, you will engage directly with customers to deliver friendly service, resolve complaints effectively, and promote upselling and cross-selling of products. Your leadership will ensure that food handling, stocking, and workstation sanitation meet strict quality guidelines. Training new team members and monitoring their adherence to cash handling policies will be part of your responsibilities, along with maintaining knowledge about the plaza's products and services to assist customers effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Able to stand and walk for an extended period of time
  • Frequently bend, twist, lift and carry at least 40 pounds
  • Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • Cash handling and customer service experience
  • Preferred experience as a shift supervisor or in a leadership role
  • Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner

Job Duties

  • Lead the activities of team members on shift
  • Consistently provide friendly customer service by engaging in positive, helpful interactions with customers and appropriately resolve customer complaints
  • Complete opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies/procedures
  • Operate point-of-sale (POS) system, accurately process and receive payment from customers, and follow all customer service and cash handling policies and procedures
  • Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed including wrapping, labelling, dating, stocking, storing, rotating, and checking temperature of products
  • Complete with a variety of kitchen-related tasks including prepping, thawing, cooking, packaging, wrapping, and cleaning
  • Stock, clean, and sanitize workstation and equipment
  • Actively cross-sell and up-sell products
  • Maintain a solid knowledge of products and services available in the plaza
  • Assist in the training of new team members
  • Follow required brand standards, food safety requirements, as well as all company policies and procedures
  • Inform plaza leadership of any observations, concerns, or problems that are witnessed or experienced
  • Execute a variety of other tasks as assigned
