The role of Shift Supervisor at Wonder is designed for a proactive, detail-oriented individual passionate about leading kitchen operations to deliver excellent food quality and service consistently. This position is vital in maintaining the restaurant's high operational standards and ensuring customer satisfaction by overseeing kitchen activities, managing staff, and upholding safety and hygiene protocols. Shift Supervisors work collaboratively with chef leadership and various departments to ensure seamless kitchen functions and optimal guest experiences.

The position offers both full-time and part-time employment options and is based at the Rosslyn location, offering a competitive pay rate of $21.00 per hour. Overnight shifts between midnight and 5:00 AM receive a premium of $2.00 per hour, recognizing the additional commitment required during these hours. Key responsibilities include supervising the team during opening, preparation, and closing phases, managing orders, maintaining inventory and supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards. They also monitor operational costs to stay within budget, guarantee proper maintenance and use of kitchen equipment, and lead briefings for front and back-of-house teams before and after service periods.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for a full shift while working
  • Must have open availability including night and weekend availability
  • Food Manager Certificate as required by State County or Local Health Departments

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience supervising or leading team members in a quick service restaurant or full-service restaurant
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and a strong drive for efficiency and accuracy
  • Demonstrates professionalism and adheres to policies and procedures
  • Must be able to exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player

Job Duties

  • Lead the restaurant team members in all aspects of service including opening prep and closing duties
  • Work together with the chef leadership team and other departments to ensure guests receive highest quality of service
  • Receive and process all kitchen orders and deliveries in line with company protocol
  • Maintain communication with restaurant staff to ensure team has enough stock and assist with supplies and ordering
  • Ensure appropriate safety sanitation and hygiene practices are followed across all back-of-house areas and in line with cleaning schedules
  • Monitor kitchen operational costs and ensure budget guidelines are followed
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely securely and is in full working order
  • Perform relevant briefings with front and back-of-house staff pre- and post-service
  • Ensure all operating and quality standards are met
  • Present a professional and ethical leadership style
  • Participate in training coaching and development for restaurant employees
