Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized leader in the specialty coffee industry, committed to crafting the world’s finest coffee and fostering meaningful connections with communities worldwide. Established as a premier coffeehouse chain, Starbucks has revolutionized the way people experience coffee, making every cup an opportunity to create a warm and welcoming environment. With thousands of stores across the globe, Starbucks is celebrated not only for its exceptional coffee but also for its dedication to partner growth, community involvement, and pioneering sustainability initiatives.

The company thrives on the philosophy that each coffeehouse is more than just a place to grab a beverage; it is a space where moments of connection spark and memories are made. Starbucks values a culture that encourages inclusivity, diversity, and mutual respect, ensuring that partners (employees) feel appreciated and empowered in their roles.

As a shift supervisor at Starbucks, you will play a crucial role in leading your coffeehouse team by example with both craft and heart. Your leadership will ensure the store operates smoothly, delivering outstanding customer service and consistently high-quality products. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills through real-world experience and Starbucks’ industry-leading benefits, supporting your personal and professional growth. You will nurture a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel valued and the community gathers.

Your responsibilities will include managing daily operations, supporting your team in preparing and serving beverages and food items to Starbucks’ high standards, and maintaining store safety and security. You will also be instrumental in coaching and mentoring your team members, helping them achieve their full potential while ensuring that shifts run efficiently and effectively. Flexible work hours may be required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Starbucks invests heavily in its partners with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support health, financial well-being, education, and work-life balance. Eligible partners can access medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, paid parental leave, and paid vacation, starting to accrue after the introductory period. The company also offers a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match, a discounted stock purchase program, and tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree through an innovative educational partnership with Arizona State University.

Beyond tangible benefits, Starbucks fosters a culture of inclusivity and equal opportunity, ensuring all qualified applicants receive consideration regardless of race, color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. The company also complies with state and local employment laws and is committed to accommodating partners with disabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about coffee culture and exceptional customer experiences, and who are eager to grow their leadership skills in a dynamic, supportive environment. As a shift supervisor, you will not only craft coffee but also craft meaningful moments for your customers and teammates alike, playing a vital role in the ongoing success of Starbucks Coffee Company.
