Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized premium coffee retailer and roaster, known for crafting some of the world's finest coffee. Founded in 1971 in Seattle, the company has grown into a leading coffeehouse chain with thousands of stores across the globe. Starbucks is committed to creating warm and welcoming spaces where customers can connect, relax, and enjoy quality coffee and food products. The company emphasizes community, sustainability, and the ethical sourcing of coffee beans, while also focusing on the growth and development of its partners (employees).

The position of Shift Supervisor at Starbucks is a pivotal role responsible for leading store operations with a balance of craft and heart. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be entrusted with leading your coffeehouse to deliver exceptional customer experiences by fostering a positive atmosphere for both partners and customers. This role involves coaching and guiding team members, ensuring that every cup of coffee meets Starbucks' high standards, and maintaining a safe and efficient store environment. The role requires flexibility in working hours, as shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays.

At Starbucks, partners benefit from a comprehensive suite of industry-leading benefits designed to support their health, financial well-being, and personal growth. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, paid parental leave, vacation and sick time accrual, 401(k) retirement plans with employer match, and education opportunities such as full tuition coverage for a first-time bachelor’s degree through Arizona State University’s online program. The company fosters a culture where continuous learning is encouraged and leadership potential is nurtured through developmental experiences.

As a Shift Supervisor, you will be instrumental in maintaining store standards related to beverage and food preparation, cash handling, and safety protocols. You will delegate tasks and coordinate the work of team members, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships are essential, as is the capability to inspire and direct a team toward common goals. The role demands at least six months of experience in customer-facing positions, as well as experience in delegating or coordinating tasks among team members.

Starbucks is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, offering reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. The company strives to provide a supportive work environment where all partners can thrive and feel valued. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and location, with entry-level partners typically hired at the start of the pay scale specific to their area.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Starbucks as a Shift Supervisor, where you can lead with passion, craft, and compassion, making every meaningful moment in the coffeehouse count, and helping to create a community hub where everyone feels welcome. Whether you are passionate about coffee, leadership, or customer service, this role offers a chance to grow personally and professionally within a brand known worldwide for its commitment to quality and community.
