Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally renowned coffeehouse chain devoted to crafting the world’s finest coffee while fostering meaningful connections within communities. Recognized for its commitment to quality, innovation, and social responsibility, Starbucks has made a significant impact in the food and beverage industry worldwide. Founded in Seattle, Washington, Starbucks has grown from a single store to an expansive network of stores across the globe, each dedicated to delivering a unique coffeehouse experience characterized by exceptional products and outstanding customer service. As a company, Starbucks emphasizes its mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit "one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time." This dedication extends beyond just serving coffee, as Starbucks continually invests in its partners, focusing on career growth, benefits, and creating inclusive workplace environments.

Within this thriving and vibrant setting, the role of a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks is a position of leadership and influence. The Shift Supervisor leads with both craft and heart, overseeing daily store operations while ensuring the store remains a welcoming space for the community. This role involves managing the shift team to maintain a high standard of beverage and food quality, providing exemplary customer service, and supporting the overall goal of creating meaningful moments for customers. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for guiding team members, delegating tasks, and fostering a collaborative, productive work environment. Additionally, this position includes responsibilities such as cash handling, maintaining store safety, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and who values leadership with empathy and openness. Starbucks invests heavily in its partners’ development and offers industry-leading benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid parental leave, vacation and sick time accrual, and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer match. Starbucks also supports educational advancement through programs like the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, which offers 100% tuition coverage for a bachelor’s degree via Arizona State University’s online program.

As a Shift Supervisor, you will contribute to maintaining the quality Starbucks experience that customers have come to expect, while influencing your team’s growth and the store’s success. You will help nurture a positive workplace culture that empowers partners and promotes community engagement. Flexible work hours are expected to accommodate varied business needs, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays. The position also demands strong communication skills, the ability to direct and motivate others, and a deep knowledge of the retail environment.

Working at Starbucks not only means being a part of a beloved global brand but also enjoying a host of perks designed to support your personal and professional well-being. You will be part of a team that is passionate about coffee and people, working in an environment that encourages collaboration, growth, and mutual respect throughout your career journey.
