Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company stands as a global leader in the coffeehouse industry, renowned for crafting the world’s finest coffee and fostering meaningful connections through welcoming spaces. Founded over four decades ago, Starbucks has expanded to thousands of locations worldwide, continuously committed to creating warm environments where every customer feels valued and every cup of coffee is a crafted experience. The company is more than just a coffee retailer; it is a community hub where people gather, collaborate, and connect. Starbucks emphasizes the importance of its partners, or employees, who are central to delivering an exceptional customer experience in every store. With a strong culture grounded in inclusivity, diversity, and partner growth, Starbucks invests extensively in the development and well-being of its workforce.

As a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks, you will play a pivotal role in guiding your coffeehouse team to create these memorable moments every shift. This role blends leadership, craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service to ensure that each visit to the store is welcoming and satisfying. Shift Supervisors are responsible for overseeing daily store operations, coaching team members, and delivering quality food and beverages according to Starbucks’ standards. You will be leading with heart, encouraging collaborative teamwork while managing store safety, cash handling, and operational policies. This position requires a strong ability to multitask, manage personnel, and handle high-pressure situations efficiently while maintaining the warm and inviting atmosphere Starbucks is known for.

Starbucks offers an inclusive work environment with comprehensive benefits that support both partners and their families, fostering professional and personal growth. This employment opportunity includes flexible scheduling, recognizing the dynamic nature of customer demand, especially during early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. With an emphasis on development, Starbucks provides extensive training, empowering Shift Supervisors to hone their leadership skills and grow within the company.

The benefits package is robust, featuring health coverage including medical, dental, and vision plans, as well as life insurance options and disability coverage. Starbucks prioritizes work-life balance and offers paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time accruals, plus holiday pay for certain designated days. Additionally, partners have access to financial wellness initiatives such as a 401(k) plan with employer matching, stock purchase options, and tuition reimbursement through the Starbucks College Achievement Plan. The company also supports partners through backup childcare and offers resources to assist with student loan management and other educational opportunities.

Starbucks is an equal opportunity employer, committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce where every partner is treated with respect and dignity. The company complies with all applicable laws to provide accommodations for employees and applicants with disabilities, ensuring everyone has an equal chance to succeed. As you take on the role of Shift Supervisor, you become part of a global mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit — one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time.
