Job Description

KFC Corporation, one of the most recognized and beloved fast-food chains worldwide, is known for its iconic fried chicken and dedication to delivering exceptional customer experiences. Established decades ago, KFC operates numerous restaurants both corporately owned and franchised across the globe, constantly striving to bring warmth, flavor, and innovation to every meal they serve. Their mission goes beyond just food; KFC emphasizes leadership, community engagement, and fostering growth in their team members. The El Cajon location situated at 2949 Jamacha Rd, California, is part of this larger network, catering to both locals and visitors seeking quality fast-food meals in a friendly and engaging atmosphere.

This particular job opening is for the role of Shift Supervisor within the KFC team. This is a pivotal role combining front-line leadership, operational management, and team mentorship in a fast-paced restaurant setting. The employment is hourly with a competitive pay scale of $20 to $21 per hour, offering good compensation that reflects the responsibilities and dynamic nature of the role. The Shift Supervisor acts as the crucial link between team members on the floor and higher-level management, ensuring smooth shift operations while also promoting an enthusiastic workplace culture.

You will be responsible for guiding team members, helping them understand their roles, and fostering an environment where they can deliver outstanding guest experiences consistently. Your duties will encompass making sure that food quality, cleanliness, and order accuracy meet KFC’s high standards every shift. You will implement the KFC Connect Success Routine to promote consistency and excellence in all operational areas. Beyond supervising day-to-day food preparation and safety practices, you will also keep the restaurant secure by adhering to safety, cash handling, and labor policies.

This role also involves contributing to business success by providing insights on team performance and staffing needs to restaurant management. The Shift Supervisor will assist in hiring and onboarding new team members, ensuring they receive comprehensive training to uphold brand standards. Additionally, helping to manage inventory and labor during shifts will play a key role in maximizing profitability.

KFC values leaders who are team-oriented, detail-conscious, and proactive. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of restaurant or retail experience, leadership skills that inspire trust and initiative, comfort with POS systems, and a commitment to health, safety, and cleanliness standards. The job demands physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds, with availability across various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Working at KFC also comes with a range of significant benefits. The company offers competitive pay, free meals during shifts, paid time off, flexible schedules, and tuition reimbursement plus scholarship opportunities. Employee discounts extend to vehicles, phones, gym memberships, and much more. KFC also boasts exclusive programs via the KFC Foundation such as free college tuition at Western Governors University, a savings match program, and hardship assistance for unexpected life events. This role is an excellent launchpad for those aspiring to grow their leadership skills and advance within the fast-food industry and beyond.
