Job Description

Starbucks Coffee Company is a globally recognized coffeehouse chain that has steadfastly committed to crafting the world’s finest coffee and serving it in warm and welcoming environments. Established as a leader in the coffee industry, Starbucks operates thousands of stores worldwide and is synonymous with quality, community, and service. This company is dedicated not only to delivering exceptional coffee experiences but also to nurturing meaningful moments between people, whether with friends, family, or strangers in their neighborhood coffeehouses. The brand's mission centers around creating an inviting atmosphere where every cup of coffee serves as a catalyst for connection and personal interaction.

The Starbucks culture encourages growth, inclusivity, and leadership development within its workforce. Empowering its partners (employees) through comprehensive benefits, continual training, and a supportive work environment are key pillars of its operations. Starbucks is continually investing in its partners' professional and personal development journey, providing avenues for growth within the company and beyond.

The role of Shift Supervisor at Starbucks is a leadership position within the store, tasked with leading the team to deliver not only high-quality coffee and food products but also exceptional customer service consistently. The Shift Supervisor operates as an intermediary between store management and hourly partners, ensuring smooth store operations during their working shifts. This includes coaching team members, maintaining store standards, overseeing cash handling, ensuring safety and security protocols are followed, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Leadership with heart is emphasized, as Starbucks values a partner who can lead with empathy, engage customers, and champion a culture of community and connection within the coffeehouse.

Shift Supervisors at Starbucks should embrace flexibility in their schedules as hours may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of retail operations. The company offers industry-leading benefits such as medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance, paid parental leave, paid vacation, sick time, holiday pay, retirement savings plans with employer match, stock purchase programs, and tuition coverage through the Starbucks College Achievement Plan in partnership with Arizona State University. Starbucks also commits to diversity, equity, and inclusion and stands as an equal opportunity employer devoted to providing reasonable accommodations to candidates with disabilities.

Employment type for the position is typically full-time or part-time based on the store’s needs, and compensation varies geographically with new partners usually hired at the entry point of the range for their location. Starbucks emphasizes fair pay aligned with individual experience and circumstances. This position presents a valuable opportunity for those who aspire to lead in the retail food and beverage industry, make meaningful contributions to their community, and grow their career within a globally iconic brand dedicated to sustainability, quality, and social responsibility.
